Natural Beauty And Hygiene

In my view, this is a crucially important part of the phyto lifestyle which so many of us know so little about.

Did you know, for instance, that the average person uses 9 personal care products every day, exposing themselves to an average of 126 chemicals!  It is a medically recognised fact that our body absorbs significant amounts of what we put on our skin - so for a healthy lifestyle - your choice of beauty and hygiene products is vitally important in ensuring that you are not polluting your body with harmful chemicals.

And think about what all those chemicals are doing to our environment.  As they get washed away into our water system, they are damaging the environment in which our plants grow and our animals, fish and birds feed.

If you still need convincing, consider the fact that 89% of the 10,500 ingredients commonly used in beauty and hygiene products have not been tested for safety.  In the last 30 years, only 9 of those 10500 ingredients have been banned or restricted.  And one third of all personal care products contain one or more ingredients classified as possible human carcinogens.

Finally, many of those products which earn millions for the commercial producers are cruelly tested on animals.  All that suffering and we are still presented with products full of chemicals that can harm both our well being and the future of our planet.  So please - check out the suppliers of beautiful, natural beauty and hygiene products which are now widely available and spend your money supporting organisations that are producing products which are kind to us and to our world.

Hygiene refers to practices associated with ensuring good health and cleanliness.  Hygiene included personal, domestic, food, dental and occupational.  The purpose of food and cooking hygiene is to prevent food contamination, the transmission of disease and to prevent food poisoning.  Food and hygiene protocols specify safe ways to handle and prepare food, and safe methods of safe serving and eating it.

WASHING OF HANDS THOROUGHLY BEFORE TOUCHING ANY FOOD IS A MUST:  Use good old fashioned soap and water.

The application of water alone is ineffective for cleaning skin because water alone is unable to remove fats, oils and proteins which are components of organic and also bacterial soil.  Cleanliness is the absence of dirt including dust, stains, bad smells and garbage.  However, there is now a shift in thinking when David Strachan, in 1989 put forward the "hygiene hypothesis"that dirt may play a useful role in our immune systems.

There is a growing awareness and preference for cosmetics that are without any toxic ingredients, especially hose derived from petroleum, sodium laurel phosphate (SLS) and parabens.  SLS, parabens and synthetic fragrances can cause Dermatitis, skin allergies and irritation.

AskPG has introduced her new range of Phyto Goods

Ask PG brings you an exciting new range of natural products to care for your skin as nature intended.

We have used centuries old ingredients which nourish and rejuvenate your face and body. We have delved back into history, right back to the days of Cleopatra and the luxury of bathing in milk and honey to bring you the most prized ingredients known to produce natural beauty and healthy skin and all our ingredients are totally natural. Even the milk we use comes from animals raised on organic pasture so we can be sure it is pure.

We use luxurious ingredients such as Neroli oil - named after an Italian princess this expensive oil comes from orange blossom and was historically used by the upper classes and royals for its skin care properties and wonderful fragrance.

And Frankincense - prized since the days of ancient Egypt for its wonderful fragrance and ability to deter ageing of the skin.

Palm oil has been used for hundreds of years in the production of food, medicine, woven materials and skin care products. Every year thousands of acres of natural forest are destroyed by farmers establishing new palm oil plantations, endangering the natural habitat of wildlife. Our palm oil comes from a sustainability managed plantation in Columbia which does not endanger the lives of the precious forest animals.

All our products are free from parabens and SLS and come packaged in eco-friendly packaging which is completely recyclable. Even the pretty cotton fabrics which wrap our soaps can be returned to us and made into patchwork quilts which are then given to charities which raise money for impoverished children.

So join the Phyto lifestyle and experience our fabulous new range of totally natural skin care products. Do also subscribe to our newsletter so that we can keep you up to date with new product introductions over the months to come.
